Comments — we never want to go home

Yet again, we have had a totally peaceful and relaxing week. Travelled further afield this time. Had a fantastic meal in the pub at Applecross, a very long, bendy path / road to get there but definitely worth it. It’s its own oasis. Elgol was also well worth a visit and will take a boat trip from there when we are next here because they looked great. Thanks, again for your great hospitality.

Costa del Glenelg! What a heat on Saturday 9th (April).

Lovely introduction to Ferryhouse — what stunning weather and lovely breakfasts outside.

Ferryhouse is positioned in an enviable spot and has probably been the best equipped cottage we’ve ever stayed in.

Great lot of books you’ve got for a rainy day. Wonderful hospitality as always.

We managed to see an otter which was a real treat. Thank you for your friendliness and hospitality — you made us feel very welcome and we look forward to a return visit.

Thanks for a grand and glorious sojourn… the perfect place to spend my son’s birthday. Thank you for your generous hospitality.

We enjoy very much the Ferry House because it has a soul… Forgive us our bad English. Well, we’ll come back to learn it more and more!

Swimming at Sandaig was really special (August). Seeing the otters, fantastic. The girls really enjoyed riding at Ratagan — every year there is something different.

We had a very relaxing week in this lovely cottage. I loved sitting in front of the fire in the evening. This really is a special place, whatever the weather is like.

It fits like a glove. What can I say more!

The batteries have been well and truly recharged and we are once again ready to re-enter the “real world”. Jimmy and Melanie have once again been wonderful hosts, and thanks goes to them yet again for making our visit so special and wonderful.

We’ve had another wonderful holiday with lots of very special memories.

We will be back, of course.

The best cottage and hosts we have had in 20 years. The best views. The best fishing experience. The best smoked mackerel. The best everything.

What have we learned? 1. Never be suprised by what you see: This year, dolphins in the bay, golden eagle at Corran, roe deer on Ratagan Pass, slow work at Corran, sea trout jumping and dancing in the air at Glen Beag. 2. Never expect to see anything: Otters!

Another fabulous two weeks … we are heading south with masses of memories and are already planning our return.

Very comfortable and excellent cottage. Never had a holiday let with a piano before — must brush up my scales!

We have had a fantastic week in Glenelg and my dad has seen his first otter in the wild. We have seen golden eagles everyday. We can’t believe our luck!

17 years and the magic still holds!

For somebody who has no patience whatsoever, to sit on the “otter bench” in the hope of seeing an otter was one of the most relaxing experiences ever. To be rewarded with sightings on both days was thrilling!

Grand merci, cher Jimmy

wonderful to stay here again

it has been wonderful to awake to an ever changing vista it is reassuring to know that Glenelg and Ferry House remain unchanged in time

another fantastic week... the snow looks spectacular, unbelievably making Glenelg look even more beautiful. We have seen herons and buzzards, and otters playing in the bay below the house.

Ferry House is all that we hoped it would be - the cottage is lovely and the views amazing

Ferry House will always have a special place in our hearts

First year - one week - second year - two weeks - third year - three weeks

Blue skies, warm sun, big wind, big rain, spectacular waterfalls, tasty suppers, warm fires, good company, the lot! We love it here. Thank you.

Highlights - the otters, seals, the ferry, the sheep, the Cuillins ... this truly feels like a home to us and we hope to return.

We never want to go home after our stays at Ferry House.

A magic place in a magic land.

Drama, drama, drama - and sky, sea, mountains - it was all, at times, almost too much - which is why I want to come back so.

When it snowed on Christmas Night, Glenelg became a Winter Wonderland. It was so good to take in the peace and beauty of the countryside again.

One week wasn't long enough, walked every day but only scratched the surface. Weather was superb... Loved coming back to the cosy cottage each evening. Definite plans to come back again as there is so much to see and do... Thank you, Jimmy, for your warm and friendly welcome.

We spent your first evening reading your fascinating visitors' book - got to be the most interesting I've ever come across. I feel like I know all your regular visitors and I certainly know why they keep coming back.
