Ferry House: Otters

Otter watching at the Ferry House and Glenelg

This area has always been well-known for otters. A few miles down the coast, Gavin Maxwell raised the otters made famous in his book "Ring of Bright Water". Today, there is a sanctuary and hide just across the water from Ferry House. There, and at Ferry House itself, sightings are frequent, especially at quiet times of the day—although they can never be guaranteed.
